The Cyberpunk TCG reaches store shelves Nov 6 after a record $27M Kickstarter
WeirdCo's Cyberpunk TCG goes to full retail on Friday, November 6. The first set, Welcome to Night City, arrives in a Retail Edition after a Kickstarter that closed on April 17 at $26,953,978 from 47,676 backers, per Game Rant. That is the most any trading card game has raised on Kickstarter. The same day, Organized Play stores can start weekly Night City Brawl events, per the publisher.

From a 1988 rulebook to a card game
The license goes back 38 years. Mike Pondsmith's R. Talsorian Games published the Cyberpunk tabletop roleplaying game in 1988 and Cyberpunk 2020, its best-known edition, in 1990. CD Projekt Red approached Pondsmith after The Witcher 2, and Cyberpunk 2077's story builds on the 2020 lore.
Cyberpunk 2077 launched in December 2020. CD Projekt says it has sold 40 million copies as of July 3, 2026, counting the Ultimate Edition bundle, per VGC. Its Phantom Liberty expansion passed 10 million in CD Projekt's Q1 2025 report.
Two anime seasons and a film in development
Studio Trigger's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners reached Netflix in September 2022. By September 24, Cyberpunk 2077 hit 104,827 concurrent Steam players, passing The Witcher 3's all-time peak of 103,329, per VGC; a patch and a 50% discount landed the same week.
Edgerunners 2, a standalone 10-episode story from Trigger and CD Projekt Red, premiered on October 20. In its first week (Oct 19–25) it drew 4.6 million views and 21.9 million hours, No. 3 on Netflix's non-English TV chart, per VGTimes.
More is in the works. Paramount is developing a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 film with CD Projekt Red producing alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura, per Deadline as reported by Dataconomy on October 9; it is early, with no cast or date. The next mainline game, Project Orion, is in pre-production, per Outlook Respawn. And the TCG's second set, Edgerunners: Burn Bright, is due in spring 2027, made with Trigger, with a new chase rarity, per ICv2.
How the Kickstarter ran
The campaign went live on March 17 with a $100,000 goal and passed it within minutes. It raised $3 million in under an hour, per Outlook Respawn, and more than $12 million by March 23, per Notebookcheck. On April 1 it passed the $15.15 million the Cosmere RPG raised in August 2024, per Game Rant; Outlook Respawn calls Cosmere's total the previous tabletop record. The final total is about 270 times the goal.
Not everyone was sold. Notebookcheck's March roundup of the r/boardgames discussion found complaints about high pledge-tier prices, a heavy focus on collectors and doubts about the game's long-term future, with some players pointing to Android: Netrunner as the established cyberpunk card game. WeirdCo answered the supply worry by printing campaign items to order, so every backer gets what they pledged, per Game Rant. Pledges of $375 or more qualified for express shipping from Q3; a second wave is planned for Q4.
How the Kickstarter cards are trading
Backers and early stores got the Beta edition of the same set. Beta events ran September 10–17 at stores registered before May 1, and the Beta booster box was a limited allocation, per the publisher. More than 3,000 stores had signed up as retailers by July.
TCGplayer Market Price on November 3 shows what that head start is worth:
| Product | Market Price |
|---|---|
| Beta booster box (36 packs) | $342.11 |
| Retail booster box (24 packs) | $136.69 |
| Beta booster pack | $13.21 |
| Retail booster pack | $11.01 |
| Rebecca, Having A Moment (Kickstarter backer promo) | $211.08 |
| Johnny Silverhand, Rocking Renegade, Beta Iconic Secret | $1,168.50 |

By the box, Beta works out to about $9.50 a pack against $5.70 for Retail. The Retail box has slipped before release: $154.94 on October 31, $151.54 on November 1 and $136.69 on November 3, down 12% in three days. The Beta box held at $340.40, $339.40 and $342.11 over the same reads. Retail singles trade far below Beta: the top Retail single is $23.90, while four Beta Iconic Secrets sit between $783.04 and $1,168.50.
What ships on November 6
Per ICv2, Retail Edition booster displays hold 24 packs of 12 cards. The set adds new cards and 31 alternate-art Iconic Rares that differ from Beta's. TCGplayer also lists Retail versions of the two starter decks, The Heist and Embracing Power, for the same date. Prerelease kits (6 packs, 3 legends, a promo and dice) went to stores for events from October 30, and stores got a free display for every two kit cases. WeirdCo posted errata and rules updates on October 28 to coincide with the Retail release. ICv2 gave no MSRP, print run or distributor.
Weekly Night City Brawls give Brawl packs with exclusive promos. Each store runs one Night City Showdown per set to close the season, with full-art champion promos and playmats as prizes, per the publisher.
